Raindrop Therapy originated from research done by Dr Gary Young and a Lakota Medicine Man in the 1970's. It is based on the theory that many kinds of spinal misalignments are caused by viruses or bacteria that lie dormant along the spine. These bacteria and or viruses may cause repeated muscle spasms and pain. Originally this therapy was used to treat scoliosis, as this technique helped to decrease uneven muscle spasms allowing the spine to realingn itself. After years of reseach and applications, it is now recommended for any back pain, including muscle spasms. tightness, disc issues, it is especially beneficial for chronic or reoccuring issues. Raindrop can also be of benefit in ridding the body of past viruses , such as mononucleosis. These viruses can lie dormant for many years and may be the cause of reoccuring pain and fatigue.
The therapy itself involves the use of highly antimicrobial essential oils designed to help kill viral and bacterial agents, thus eliminating pain and and inflammation. The essential oils used are Oregano, Thyme, Basil, Cypress, Marjoram, Wintergreen, Peppermint, and two blends Aroma Siez and Valor. The process begins with feet using some of the oils listed in a technique called vitaflex (a form of Thai Reflexology) on the spine of the foot (reflexology). After the foot work is done we move on to the back dropping the oils like raindrops onto the spine. The process also involves feathering in the oils and incorporating some massage technique in the therapy. The final stages involve application of a hot wet towel to help the oils penetrate the tissue more deeply. The therapy can be fine tuned to assist in helping heal specific issues like hormal balance, respiratory, digestive and others. This technique is used to help promote cleansing and healing in muscle tissue and nerve pathways. |
